What the verse wheel is

This is a spinner for Scripture. The wheel holds 463 verses from the Old and New Testaments, sorted into 18 themes, and each spin lands on one of them. It is made for a quiet moment: a verse to start the day, a word of encouragement, or a passage to carry with you. It is free, there is nothing to install, and you do not need an account.

How to use the wheel

Choose a theme or leave it on All themes. The wedges are colored by theme, so a mixed wheel shows every color.
Spin. Press the Spin button, flick the wheel with your finger, or press the space bar. The wheel slows down and settles on a verse.
Read the verse. The verse card shows the full text and reference. Switch between the New King James Version and the King James Version with the NKJV and KJV buttons, and the wheel remembers your choice.
Keep it or share it. Copy the verse, open the whole chapter on Bible Gateway, or make a verse card image to save or share.
No repeats. Turn this on and a verse leaves the wheel once you have landed on it, until you put them all back.

How does the daily verse work?
One verse is chosen each day at midnight Eastern Time, the same way Bible Wordle picks its daily word, and it is the same verse for everyone. Spin for it each day to build a streak.

Is the spin really random?
Yes. Each regular spin picks a verse at random from the theme you chose. Only the daily spin is fixed for the day.

Where are my saved verses kept?
On your own device, in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and clearing your browser data clears the list.
